Question: Possible Infection- Women Only!?!?!?!?!!!!
About a month ago i had a UTI and then symtoms stop!. Hubby and i hadnt Beded (BD) for this time as it hurt!. Well i finished the antibiotic about a wk before ovulati!. I ovulated early so we BD 5 times and then my symoms came back!. first, with just sore and raw which i figured just from alot of BD but then came the itching and very warm urination!. Last night after about a couple of days like this i figured i should get Monistat, which i have never used beofer!. I got the one day pack which you wipes first, then insert that egg thing, then use the ceam!. I havent had much burning but after useing the anti- itch cream OMG i was on fire it hurt so bad!. I decided to take it off and i felt better!. this morning it still burns really bad!. Does anyone know if this naturally happens with useing this cream, or could i have had an allergic reaction!.!? was this a possible yeast infection!? i have had it twice before both times fom antibiotics from dentist, but it never hurt this bad from the burning pain!!!! you should never use monistat or any other over the counter yeast unless you are sure you have a yeast infection!. if you had white, cottage cheese like discharge that usually indicates a yeast infection!. if you were that unsure of what your problem was you should have seen your gyno!.
if it wasn't a yeast infection you could have made your situation worse!. it almost sounds like it may be a bacterial infection which monistat will not cure!. bacterial infections need to be treated with antibiotics!.
you may have had an allergic reaction to the monistat!. if it was the one day monistat doctors usually don't recommend using it because it is too high of a dose and can cause severe irritation!.
go see your gyno!. don't keep self treating!. you may make your problem much worse!.
btw!.!.!.your gyno should probably do a culture for bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection!. for now, try taking a baking soda bath!.
i disagree about it being okay to take yeast infection medication if you don't have a yeast infection!. the medication can throw off the balance of the normal bacteria in the vagina and actually cause an infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Taking an OC for a yeast infection is alright, but are you sure you have a yeast infection!? You might still have your UTI!. Always make that appointment with your doctor for when your done with the antibiotics!. Taking an OC for a yeast infection wont hurt you if you don't have a yeast infection!. I suggest drinking cranberry juice and lots of water, keep yourself clean and dry!. Do not wear tight underpants or tight pants!. Wear cotton underwear, or none at all!. Make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible!. Yes, you could be allergic to the cream!.
Please, you and your husband should both get regular check ups!. Nothing is better then for partners to both be healthy and happy!.
