If you are talking about birth control pills they can work in basically two different ways!.!.!.they make it more difficult for an egg to be fertilized and more difficult to implant in the uterus!. The injections do the same thing!. Condoms prevent sperm from going into the uterus!. IUDS work a little differently depending on which type you use!.!.!.the Mirena has hormones which do basically the same thing as the pill while the older type coils work but how it exactly works is a bit of a mystery!. Just remember that nothing is absolutely foolproof except not having sex!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Most birth control pills are "combination pills" containing a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg during the monthly cycle)!. A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't ovulate because there is no egg to be fertilized!. The Pill also works by thickening the mucus around the cervix, which makes it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus and reach any eggs that may have been released!. The hormones in the Pill can also sometimes affect the lining of the uterus, making it difficult for an egg to attach to the wall of the uterus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
birth control tricks your body to think that it is pregnant!.
sooooo when you are pregnant you can not concieve more kids or have your period, and you are on the pill for 28 days and then when you stop you get your period for a week!.
then you do the whole cycle over again :) (its a way to not get pregnant)
hope i helped!.
