I am having pelvic pains and getting no answers from my DR.!

Question: I am having pelvic pains and getting no answers from my DR!.
About 8 weeks ago I started having pains in my ovaries or in that area!. I get ovarian cysts frequently so I thought it was that!. I went to get an ultra sound and they said I had no cysts!. So I had a pelvic exam done!. Turns out I had a bacterial infection and my uterus was swelled!. They did a culture and it came back as group B strep!. Everything I googled on group B strep talked about pregnant!. I went on my 3rd anitibiotic and went to get an exam because my stomach and pelvic area swelled!. They said that the bacterial infection was clearing up, but pushed on my bladder and I almost went through the roof from pain!. I was told I had a bladder infection!. They did a urine culture and called me back stating the culture was negative and that I didnt have a bladder infection!. The refered me to a gastronologist!. If my female organs hurt what good os a gastonologist going to do me!? This has been 8 weeks of this and I just want to know what it is!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Could be PID

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is an acute infection in the organs of the pelvis!. It can affect the uterus, fallopian tubes and/or ovaries!. Canadian statistics suggest that one in 10 women will have at least one episode of PID!. Seventy-five percent of cases occur in women under 25 years of age!.

Most cases of PID are caused by the sexually transmitted infections chlamydia and gonorrhea!. PID can cause serious, even life-threatening, illness and needs to be treated immediately!. Prompt treatment will also reduce the likelihood of long-term consequences, which can include infertility, ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain!.

PID can cause severe pain and other symptoms; however, some women do not experience any pain at all and may never know of their infection unless long-term consequences develop!. The most common symptoms of PID are:

* aches or cramping in the lower abdomen
* fever and chills
* abnormal uterine bleeding
* abnormal discharge with pain

PID symptoms often start at the end of your period!. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should see your doctor as soon as possible!. If your symptoms are severe, go to a hospital emergency room!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like your Dr is not sure what the pain is from!.!.so he wants to rule out things by having you see a gastro specialist!. Have you see an OB/GYN !? If not try this!.!.!.some of the symptoms you are talking about sound like PID!.!.pelvic inflammatory disease, this is basically diagnosed after everything else is ruled out, as there is no test for it!. One part of your body can affect other parts of your body!. Just because it doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean it makes sense to your body!. Listen to your doctor, go to the Gastronologist!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go get a second opinion from another obgyn or a family practitioner before going to the gastronologist!. If they say the same thing you may feel more comfortable!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to a different GYN!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Doctors are not as smart as they used to be!.!.!.!.I think that we would all be better of self-diagnosing ourselves because they probably eat pills all day and collect our insurance money and don't give a hoot about anyone!.a gastrologist is someone who SPECIALIZES in the study of the structure, functions, and diseases of the stomach!. so obviously if he has ruled out pregnancy and strep and bladder infection and urinary problems he thinks that it may be something in your stomache that he doesn't specialize in and is referring you to another doctor!. I would set up the appt A!.S!.A!.P with the gastrologist and see what tests he runs and how they come back!.!.!.!.man it makes me worry 4 u and i don't even know you but i pray to god everything is ok and good luck i hope this helped some!.
