Question: I have a question about Birth Control 21 day kind
This is my first month on taking FemconFe (first time on birth control) it is a 21 day birth control pill and 7 sugar pills, my period is usually 6 days long will it be 7 days long b/c there are 7 sugar pills!? I am not sexually active at all and is taking this for heavy cycles, I would like to know if it will be 7 days or does the sugar pills not have any effect!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The sugar pills don't have any effect (in fact you can skip them altogether - the reason they are there is to help you get in the habit of having one every day)!.
Your period will likely shorten if anything on the pill!. You will get your period for only some of the days you take sugar pills!.
And of course for the first three months you may get some spotting whenever (or not, hopefully)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pill might change your period length but not specifically so you get your period when you stop taking pills until you resume the pills!. For me I stop taking actual pills on a Sat!. my period starts on the Tues after and then usually ends on Sun/Mon even tho I start taking the pills again on Sun morning!. The reason you have to continue to take pills at the same time is because they need to build up a little in your body!. The pill isn't effective the first few weeks because it needs some time in your body!. The same thing about when you stop, the hormones need time to leave your body and your period to start!. Sugar pills do not have any effect at all!. They are used to ensure you get into a routine of taking the contraceptive pill!. For example, if you take 21 pills then have a 7 day break you are more likely to forget to take it again when the seven days are up!. The pills do not effect the length of your period!.
