12 Ibuprofen pills a day???!
Question: 12 Ibuprofen pills a day!?!?!?
I have been having either brown discharge or have been bleeding pretty much this entire month!. Two weeks ago I went to the doctor, who just chalked it up to stress!.
Today, because I seem to be having period number 2 for this month, I went back to the doctor!. She did a pelvic exam and also an internal ultra-sound, and found nothing wrong!. No cysts or mass of any kind on my ovaries!. She too said that it is possibly stress related (my husband is deployed) and said that it might have to take it's course before it stops!. I am supposed to go back next week if the bleeding continues!.!.!.!.!.
Anyway, on to my question!. My doctor told me to take 4 Ibuprofen pills 3 times a day for 3 days!. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and right before I go to bed!. She said it will help with any cramps I might get, and will also help with the bleeding (it's super heavy)!. That equals to 12 pills a day!
Has anyone ever done this, or heard of this before!. Not sure if a person can over-dose on Ibuprofen, but I am about to start taking 2X the recommended dose, and I am a little nervous about!. So, I was just looking for other's who have either prescribed this, took it, or at least heard of it!.!.!.

that sounds like too many pills!.
but then again that is a doc!. and they're suppose to know what they are doing!. read the label on the pills it should say soemthing about it!.

ok well 200 mg is not too much!. i did some research and found that u should not consume more than 3200 mg total daily dose a day!. And you will be consuming 2400!. so its ok!.
try it out!. and see if it works for you!. or if u are really not convinced ask someone at a pharmacy they should be able to tell u!.

I used to take 4 alleve or ibuprofen every 4 hours to keep my menstrual cramps under control!. I did this for years, and it started hurting the lining of my stomach very badly!. i tried taking malox to coat my stomach to protect from the pills, which only helped a little!. finally found a doc willing to do a laparoscopy, found endo and removed it!. i think you should get a second opinion from another doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have taken that many a day before!. My doctor told me to do that to because of cramping and it did help!. I never noticed any kind of side effects at all!. You will be fine and hopefully it will help with your problem!. I wish you luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If they are 600 mgs that is to much, try 2 at a time morning evening and bed time that should take care of any painWww@Answer-Health@Com
