Question: My mum wants me on Birth Control and I am 15, help!
I am 15, and my mum wants me on birth control because I can't take my period well!. I don't want kids and I think sex is nasty I want to stay a virgin for as long as possible!. Just so you all know!. When I am on my period I have really bad cramps that I throw up all the time, or huddle in a ball and cry till I fall a sleep!. My period last to 6-7 days!. I think the pills would be ok to have for those reasons, but I heard to get the pill I have to go through exams!. The types of exams where they look at your whoohoo, and stuff like that!. OoO that is just to scary and what makes it worse is that the one that going to be doing it is a guy!. -_- who looks like Albert Einstein!. With the hair all up in the air, how can that not scare a person, really!. Well all that I am asking is should I get the pill or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Many kids associate the words "Birth Control" as a contraceptive that reduce the likelihood of pregnancy!. Its main intention is to reduce the likelihood of a sperm cell fertilizing an egg but it has many benefits too!.

1) it helps regulate periods (so you'll end up having them at the same time every month)
2) May help to clear your acnes

In the long run, you should try it!. If you have any allergic reaction, stop taking it immediately and consult with your doctor!.

First off, a Pap Smear, or any other exam really isn't as bad as it sounds!. My dr!. is like 70, and yea, it is uncomfortable, but not horrible!. I have been on the shot (depo provera) for about 2 years, and I havent had a period since then!. So, if yours are that bad, I would say that the birth control route would be a good way to go!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lots of women, who have problems with their period, take birth control to regulate it!. It's perfectly OK!.
As for your apprehension about the exam, express this to the doctor first thing, and he can give you something to make you feel more relaxed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think that birth control would be a good idea for you!. if you are that worried about the doctor you are getting then talk to your mum about it!. ask her if you can get a diffreent doc or someting!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pill will definitely help you with your painful periods!!

Ask the Dr!. about Loestrin 24, you only have a period for 3 days!! Also your dr!. might have you take the pills continuesly (w/o the placebos) so that you only have a period about 4 times a year!. And that is totally ok!. It's what I do because i get really bad headaches!.

ABOUT THE SCARY MAN GYNO; level with your Mom and have her set you up with a female gyno only! I've always had a female gyno (i'm 23) and would never let an old perv look at me!.

ABOUT THE EXAM; since you're a virgin (KUDOS) it will be less invasive or not necessary at all!. Sometimes they check your breasts for lumps!.

Don't worry! ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, I think it would be a good idea!. It would make it so much better!. My mom put me on it for the same reasons!. My periods were horrible, and really irregular, I wouldn't get it for like a month, then get it two times, it was brutal!.

You could always try it, and if you don't like it, then come off of it!. :) You can get a low dose of it, etc!. Talk to your doctor!. :) As for exams, I think there's a pap smear that you have to get when you're 18 or something!. They'll explain it to you!.

People don't always use the pill for "Birth Control" :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
