Question: What do i do to become an ob/gyn!?
I live in NSW Australia and i would like to become an ob/gyn!. Does anyone know the course i would have to take to do this, and the UAI that I would need!.

I'm 2nd year Med at UNSW, and have a few friends that wanna be an ob/gyn too!.
First you need a UAI of at least 99!.5 for UNSW, and a high UMAT score, and then once you get into med its usually a 5 or 6 year course (6 years for UNSW), then after graduation you have to do a year of internship!.
Following that you're a real doctor, and can be attached to the various departments for about 2-5 years depending on your skills, and this phase is called residency!.
Next, you have to pass a fellowship exam to be admitted into the ranks of the speciality you want to be( obgyn in your case), and then train under that faculty till your become a specialist!.

Well in America it's 4 years of university and then 4 years of medical school!. Then internship at a teaching hospital!. I imagine it is somewhat similar over there!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
