Its normal when you have your first period for it not to be a 'full' one!. Mine wasnt!. Also when youve just started getting periods, its normal for them to be irregular for up to two years!. So they arent necissarily going to be a month apart!.

The cramps and bloating are normal too, i sometimes get acne, back ache and moody near my period!. Perhaps for now you should stick to pads, and then once your more aware of how heavy your periods are, you can switch to tampons, or a mix of both pads and tampons!.

About where to keep them, mine are in a small purse that i keep in my bag!. Also it may be a good idea to keep atleast one on you at all times, that way you wont have to go to any dispenser!.

Also you might want to mark the days that you have your period on a diary/calender!. That way you can see how regular your periods are, and eventually will be able to count the days in between (usually 29) and predict your next period!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm 15 and have been on mine for about 3 years now, and I ONLY use pads!. I'm still uncomfortable with tampons :P but they work for some people :) I would try both, and figure out which you like better!. And for the carrying them around thing: I usually carry them in a zipper bag (like a makeup bag) in my purse!. It's discreet and convenient because those dispensers at school are usually just sitting empty because no one uses them *lol*Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think 12 is a good age to start talking to your parents!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you think your mom would have info like that!?!? You are embarrassed about having a tampon that someone might see, or getting one out of a machine, but you can ask a world full of people about your period and can't ask your mom first!?!?!?!? My guess is you are looking for attention!. If not, again---ask mom!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry about anyone going in ur purse girl!. its ur business anyway!. if i dont hav a pad or a tampon i make a temporary pad until i can find a real one!. i make it by taking about 2 paper towels still attached 2gether!. i take some toilet tissue (a lot if its heavy) and put it in the seam of the paper towels!. then i just fold it hot dog style and place it in my underwear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just keep pads in your purse and don't let anyone go through it!. if your dont have one ask a young female teacher ,a friend you know already started,ar go to the nurse everyone gets it no big deal

hope i helped
ps can you try to answer my question!?

<333 have a happy periodWww@Answer-Health@Com

just carry them in your purse and keep it closed so no one can look in it!. It's up to you on the pad/tampon thing but you are still young so i would stick to pads for a whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

carry them in a purse and you wont worry =]

Don't worry, I was panicking like you are when I first got my period, I actually thought I was bleeding to death!! Obviously not as educated about it as you are, but I survived!.
I would recommend that you use a pad for now, and try a tampon when you flow gets heavier or when you are going to be active!. From personal experience, sticking a tampon down there hurts for the first time!.!.!.
As for what to carry you pads in, I'm assuming you meant the unused ones!? You can always put them in a cute makeup bag or something!
And I always carries tons of pads and tampons (like around 4-6) when I'm on my period, so that I won't run out of them!. And when I'm on my heavier days, I even carry a clean panty with me just in case!. Good luck, you are going to be fine! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're just starting then it might be easier to use pads, as sometimes tampons can be a bit tricky!. Just remember to use the right absorbancy (if you're not sure go for a larger one to be safe) and just remember to change every 4 -6 hours or just as often as you feel you need to!.

Just stick them in your purse, they're not enormous and they are quite easy to hide in pockets, wallets and pencil cases although really its not such a big deal if someone sees them!. This is or will be happening to all of the girls you know too!. It might be a good idea too to always keep a pad or tampon in your bag even when you aren't on - because then you won't have any padless emergencies!. But even if that happens don't panic, wait till no-one's around to use the machine ( again though, it doesn't really matter if they see, all the other girls will have had to use it at some point) or if you can't face that then go to the bathroom and use a wad of toilet paper until you can get one!.

Don't panic about periods, they aren't exactly the best time of the month but all your friends will be going through the same thing!. Its not something you have to go through alone - I bet if you talk to your girlfriends about it they will be having the same issues!. Good luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well seeing as your new to the whole period thing, i would stick to pads for a few cycles!. If your worried about friends finding pads/tampons in your purse, you can always put a pad down your bra or your back pocket!. Oh and dont but tampons from school ive never trusted them and if people can see you from the hall that could leed to embarrasment!. They sell these really small tampax ones called tampax compak, and are tiny so you could just put them in your pocket or shoe or something lol!.
ALWAYS have some pads with you, you never want to be unprepared! Good luck babe :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would start with pads, they're easier when you're just starting to use them!. Always keep a couple extra pads in your purse at all times and you'll never have a problem of being out!. If you are, ask a good friend if she has any or just suck it up and get ones from the dispenser, do it quick, don't look at anyone else and go about your business!.!.!.

But just remember to keep a couple extras with you!. Most purses have an inside zipper that pads and tampons fit perfeclty in!. If your purse doesn't, try to buy one that does - most purses have this inner lining with a zipper creating an inside pouch!. Keep your purse with you - no one should be looking through your things, and remember, alot of 12yr old girls will be starting there periods too and have the same things!.

It seems like a big deal now but really it isn't and soon you'll see it isn't!.!.!. you'll get used to carrying pads with you regularly!.!.!.not just during that time of the month!.

Like I said I think pads are best to start on, I'd give it at least 6 months before using a tampon!. Playtex Gentle Glide is a great kind, they even make a slender version!. But remember to use a panty liner too and you should change it by the 4th hour you've had one in!. It might be easier to start with padsWww@Answer-Health@Com

your quite new so i'd say use pads, keep some money in your purse or something, incase you have have to buy one!. always keep a few in the bottom of your bag incase you need them (or in a make up bag or something) , that'll save you having to get one from the bathroom dispenser infront of everyone, thats proper emarressing, dont worry about anyone seeing them, they should understand, after all, every girl has them, it's no big deal!. but make sure you know how to use them, good luck and congrats on entering womanhood :P xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
