Can I still go see my pediatrician?!

Question: Can I still go see my pediatrician!?
I'm 19 years old, soon to be 20, and I never found a physician for adults (since i dont go to hospitals anyways), but now I think I have ADD (have been considering this possibility for a few years now and want to go check it out)!. Can I go see my pediatrician!? Would she be able to prescribe drugs for me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You need to see a neurologist not a general practitioner - regardless of if it is a pediatrician or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be able to visit your pediatrician for this!. Certainly she should be able to perscribe proper medication!. Many pediatricians see former patients through college, and those that don't have a general policy for such visits should still allow you to visit under the conditions!.
In short, yes, she should be able to perscribe the drugs to you if you do have ADD, and she should be able to 'test' you!.

Are you a child!? NO! A Pediatrician is a childrens doctor!.!.!.!.grow up! You sound like Ross from the episode of Friends when he kept going to the peds doc when he was in his 30's!. Besides, the cutoff age is 18!. Why is that!? B/c when you turn 18, you are considered an adult! Go to a regular dr like everyone else in the world!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make an appointment with her!. She'll probably end up referring you to a different doctor!. Yes, she can prescribe for you but will probably still refer you to someone else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most Pediatricians stop seeing patients when they're 18 years old!. You can always have your Pedi refer you to an adult doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to find a Doctor for adults!. I do not think that you can go to Peditrician!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sure!. Our pediatrician saw our kids until they were in their late teens so I would bet that yours would too - and yes, they can prescribe medications for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
