I'm obese and have seen a couple different OB/GYNs who never said anything about that to me!. I have been on 5 different birth control pills in the past and am on the depo shot now and have never had any problems!. I know that with birth control pills you have a slightly higher risk of blood clots, etc!., but if you don't have a family history of these things, you shouldn't be at as high a risk as if you did!. I would get a second opinion from another doctor to be sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, the pill have many cautions--esp!. people with blood pressure or clotting problems!. Overweight people have tendencies to have high blood pressure--not all, but it's typical with high weight!. ALSO, you have to remember that dosages of medication must be proportionate to weight because of how your body metabolizes things and how much it takes to be effective differs depending on your weight (just like a very tiny person might get drunk off 2 bottles of beer, but an overweight person might not), and pills do NOT have much variation in dosages for the effective ingredients!. These are just some things to consider in understanding!. But you can google the topic to also see if you can learn more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not the size of the reproductive organs, it's the fact that you have more body mass so the effectiveness might be lowered with oral or injected contraception!. Since birth control also puts you at higher risk for stroke, and so does obesity, she might just be looking out for your best interests and not have anything against you!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's absolutely true!.

Obesity almost always includes high blood pressure, and that's *the* most important reason a doctor wouldn't prescribe the stuff!. Taking hormonal contraceptives with high blood pressure can (it's been documented well for decades) greatly increase your already higher than normal risk of clotting, heart attack and stroke!.

EDIT:
You don't have high blood pressure!? It's none of my business, but what were the numbers the last time it was checked!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't have anything to do with your reproductive organs, it has more to do with your blood pressure and your health!.
BC pills have a lot of side effects, the occurrences of those side effects greatly increase with a lot of factors, one of them is obesity!.
Talk to your doctor about what you can do in order to take them safely, most likely you will need to lose weight!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

but whats the problem!.!.!.do you want a baby or dont want a baby!?!? obese/overweight people are less fertile than others!. its a fact, nothin to do with the size of your reproductive organs (which are probably big anyway)!. dont take your frustation out on your doc!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course it's true - why would the doctor lie!!!?!? The contraceptive pill should not be taken with anyone with a history of heart disease, clogging of arteries, thrombosis or obesity!.!.!.!.it can cause clots to travel to the heart!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The amount of protection that you have from the hormones is less due to excessive weight!. Try seeing a different doctor!. There has to be some form of birth control they can recommend!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES ITS TRUE AS PEOPLE ON THE PILL ESPECIALLY THE OLD GENERATION PILLS OFTEN GAIN WEIGHT AS A SIDE EFFECT!. STUDIES HAVE ALSO SHOWN THAT THE NEW GENEATION PILLS WORK BETTER ON THIN PEOPLE DUE TO THEIR LOW DOSE!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
