okay i just go my first period today!
and i am going swimming tomorrow and i have soccer and i dont know how to use a tampon and my mom doesnt use them and im 13 but am i too young to use them!?!?
a few of my friends use them but i dont want to ask

Congrats!! well its very simple!.!.!.just buy some tampons, read the directions!.!.!.what i do is!.!.i take a shower, than lay on my back and wipe any blood off down there!.!.then just gently slide the tampon in, push it it!.!.than take out the applicator!. make sure u get cotton not cardboard!. and wear a panty liner (a thin pad) and take both in your purse for later on!. never sleep in tampons its not good to keep them in that long!. change them every 2-4 hours!.!.depending on how heavy your period is!. good luck sweetie!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think you should use a pad instead of a tampon because if you use a tampon all the blood just stays inside and it can get stuck!. Also I don't think you should go swimming, just in case you start bleeding!. If it's school swimming, get your mum to write a note to say that you can't go swimming because of your period or something like please excuse ---- from swimming today as she is -------!. If it's not with school just say you can't go!.

awe! no your not to young to use them, just it will be weird for your first period, and your first tampon!.
my advise is not to swim, and use a pad for soccer, because if you just started, then it will probably be uncomfortable and weird for you, most people dont wear tampons until they've had there period for years!

but if you must use one heres what you do!. ask your friends for one they will understand!. ive used friends tampons and they've used mine lol!. its not weird if your close lol! you should definately use an applicator (people say plastic is better but ive never used one and i'm fine)!.
you hold on to the applicator where the little ridges are at the end with your thumb and middle finger!. you wanna gently put just the tip in your vagina!. (if your not sure where exactly the hole is you can use a little mirror)!. then when you have it in place, tilt it towards your lower back/bumm!. then you push the rest of the applicator up until your fingers touch the lips of your vag!. when you get there you start to push the tampon slowly out of the applicator into your body and then when you can't push any farther, sorta twist the applicator out so the tampon doesn't come with it!. if you've done this right you shouldn't feel it!. (but then again i was convinced i felt it my first time lol) if its uncomfortable, then it could just be you being as paranoid as i was, or it might not be in far enough!. in that case pull the string VERY SLOWLY out!. this might hurt because its all dry and cottony, so so need to be gentle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No girl is too young to use a tampon! They are not that hard to put in, and once you learn how its fine!. Have your mom buy you a pack, and it has directions in it on how to use a tampon!. Tampons scare me!. They're uncomfortable (at least the first time I tried to put one in it was) and I'm paranoid about TSS!. I have a friend who's never worn a tampon but went swimming with her period!? But I've no clue what she did, and whether or not she er leaked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
you should ask your mom if you can use one and if you decide to find one that is small because its your first time and you dont need one to big be sure to change it after you get out of the pool Www@Answer-Health@Com
