ok so im totally freaking out! ahhh!!? i don know i jusT feel so weird and scared! Im going bc i have period issues and well yah my mom made an appointment without me knowing!?! and im feelin terrified! anywAYS WHAT HAPPENS!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can see that you're freaking out! Gynecologists are very accustomed to the first time patient and how uncomfortable she feels!. When you come to the office, you'll fill out a few forms in the waiting room (and yes, you will have the opportunity to discuss things without your mother in the room)!. Once you enter the office, your vitals will be taken by a nurse (BP, pulse, temp, height weight) and you'll probably have a urinalysis!. Once you're in an exam room, the nurse will instruct you to remove all of your clothing and put on a paper gown (keep your shoes on!.!.!.!.floors are dirty!)!. The doctor will knock (you won't be caught in stages of undress) and she'll enter with an assistant!. She'll perform a breast examination as well as palpate your abdomen!. You then slide down the table until your bottom is at the edge of the table and place your feet in the stirrups (there will be a paper barrier on your legs so you don't have to watch)!. The doctor talk to you during the exam (sometimes mundane questions about school, summer, etc!. and some questions about sexual activity, menstruation history, the problem that brought you to the office and ask about your method of birth control if you are sexually active)!. A speculum (an instrument used to gently widen the vagina for examination of the cervix) will be inserted (with lubrication)!. This allows the doctor to swab for a Pap smear (it's a long Q-tip that scrapes cervical cells!.!.!.)!. You may experience a tiny bit of pressure or discomfort for a second!. The speculum will be removed and the doctor will perform a digital exam to palpate all internal reproductive structures (she may press on your abdomen at the same time)!. She may also perform a digital rectal exam as well!. That's about it!. Afterward, you'll get dressed and possibly go to her office if there are any further questions you have!. I hope that helped!. well believe me i was scared my first time but being nervous makes it worse because you tense up!. and i think going to a woman doctor makes it alot more comfotable because when you go to a guy doctor there will be someone else in the room looking at your goods!. like its not embarrasing enough!. plus a woman doctor is more gentle!. but all they do is check your brest for lumps, push around on your belly, and then they use a tool to open you up so they can get a sample with a long q-tip!. but it is over before you know it!. and you wont need to go back for an entire year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't worry about it!. Every single female has to go to one eventually!. So it is not like it's any diffrent from other females!. Remember, a doctor is there to help!. Nothing else!. Maybe you might feel more comfortable with a female doctor!. Just anwser the questions they give you, and all they will do is have you lay down, spread your legs, and take a quick look!. Don't worry, they're so used to doing it it's not going to be awkward, they'll like be nice and friendly and talk to you the whole time!. I just went for the first time, and I was super scared, but it really wasn't that bad!. They just take a couple samples, it's a little uncomfortable but it doesn't really hurt!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
well first they're going to talk to you and ask questions!. its very important to be honest with them no matter how awkward the question is to answer!. also you need to ask questions if you have them, otherwise how will you know the answers!? then they're probably going to give you a pap swap!. this is where the doctor takes a swab of your cervix to test for cervical cancer!. then the doctor is going to check your ovaries!. this is the really awkward part because its done manually!. when i went, my doctor checked for breast cancer, which was also really awkward because that's done manually too!. it might be a little different for you because i wasn't a virgin when i first went!. it was different for my sister who was a virgin!. its really not as bad as you think!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's normal to feel freaked out and scared the first time but it really isn't that bad!. It's more uncomfortable mentally than it is physically!. Just try to relax and ask the Doctor questions!.
