Answers:
If the period you've had is only your second one ever, you will find as the months go by that periods take time to settle down!.
Some months may have a heavier flow than others, some may start late or early, be more or less uncomfortable or they can even occasionally stop altogether!
Most women find their body settles down into a natural rhythm so they know exactly what to expect each month!. Some women find their periods are strongly affected by worry or illness!. A few women find their periods are so erratic they can't predict when they will start, end, how heavy or how uncomfortable they will be!.
Even though your second period was heavy & uncomfortable, doesn't mean that's how they'll eventually end up every month!. Keep plenty of 'super' or 'super plus' sized sanitary pads or tampons in stock in your room & have two or three in your school or handbag, just in case you start unexpectedly!. Naturally, keep some 'regulars' & 'minis' for lighter days too!. You'll soon learn what to use on which day!. If you're having trouble making it through the night 'leak free', use a super plus tampon plus a 'night time' towel!. Never use two tampons at once!.
If memory serves, period pain is caused by all the blood & other material trying to leave in one go through a tiny hole!. It's tempting to curl up with a hot water bottle at times like this but it's far better to go for a brisk walk!.There's an excellent yoga exercise which really helped me:-
Sit upright on the floor!. Bend your knees outwards & draw your legs up to your body until the soles of your feet are pressed together & your heels are near your vulva!. Your legs will form a 'butterfly' shape!. Keeping your feet resting on the floor, bounce your bent legs up & down so you feel some resistance in your inner thighs!. The action is rather more energetic than a butterfly opening & closing it's wings while resting on a flower! This action works on the area to relieve the congestion!.
If your feel that your periods or any other changes you are going through in your body or mind are becoming too much to cope with, approach an adult woman you like & trust!. It could be woman in your family, a teacher, club leader, school nurse or female doctor!.
I hope all this is helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just means your hormone levels were higher this time around!.

You're okay, honey!. You may be 21 or 22 before your period completely regulates itself!. If you're really concerned, go talk to your mom and see if she can take you to the doctor!. You can get on birth control pills to lighten your period and shorten the number of days, but unless you are in a lot of pain or are suffering, I'd just leave it as it is!.

Take Midol or Pamprin, drink lots of water, use a hot water bottle or heating pad for your cramps and keep moving around!.

Good luck, sweetie!Www@Answer-Health@Com
