Question: Can bleeding during a pap smear cause the results to be abnormal!?
I have had a pap done every year and this was the only year it came up abnormal!. I did bleed when the doctor took a sample!. Can the bleeding cause abnormal results!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it would be a good idea to have the pap smear done again so it would end the worry!. I am sure that it is okay,but have it done again to ease your worry!. Sometimes I think if you had sex, douched and other things can make the pap smear result come back abnormal!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I always bleed when I have my pap done and I've never had it come up abnormal, but it might!.
Abnormal doesn't mean much - it just means you need to have closer observation and more paps for a short time (usually 2 years!.) It could have been due to any number of factors!. Don't worry too much about it! many women have an abnormal test and nothing ever comes of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think bleeding would effect it!. They test the cells in the biopsy they take!. It's normal to have spotting some times!. having it done again is a good idea though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
