I too have gained weight since stopping depo shot!. I was always prepared to gain weight while on it, cause thats what I was warned about, but never thouguht I would start gaining after I stopped!. I went from 189 to 233 in a course of about 1 year!. I havent changed my eating habits and I have actually increased my activities!. Wierd huh!? But I am also a nurse and I see the other side of your weight gain!. Antidepressants and sedatives such as Ativan can cause weight gain!. especially ativan!. Ativan works by slowing down the mind and body, to calm and relax it!. That means it also slows down the metabolism as well!. Once all of these drugs are out of your system, you just might start to shed the pounds!. Don't look for it to come off fast!. It will take some time and effort but it can happen!. Don't forget to have you MD check your thyroid, an under active or medically known as Hypothyroid will cause weight gain too, and taking prescription medications can also cause that!. Remember, you take 1 medication for something and you must take another to treat the side effects of the first medication, then another to treat the senconds side effects!. It is an ongoing process!. I suggest if you don't absolutley have to be on Cymbalta, Welbutrin and Ativan, if your life is not threatened, don't take it!. They really aren't the only answer to happiness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
