Has anyone had an abdominal/pelvic ultrasound?!

Question: Has anyone had an abdominal/pelvic ultrasound!?
Hello All,

I am scheduled to have an abdominal/pelvic ultrasound tomorrow and I just wanted to know if anyone had one of these before!? If so, what was it like!? Is it like a pregnant woman gets an ultrasound to see her baby!? Would I have to remove my clothes or just lower my pants!?

Any advice from someone has experienced one of these or is familiar with them will be very helpful!.

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a pelvic ultrasound once!. All that happened was I had to lift up my shirt to expose my abs!. (Also make sure to wear low rise pants, it will help) Then they put that jelly on and did it!. Also when they put the sound on it seems really creepy at first and weird!. I had to have an ultrasound for appendicitis and ovarian cysts!. Also you have to have an extremely full bladder to the put where you feel like exploding!. If it isn't full enough they give you an iv and pump fluids into you!. Also when they put the jelly on you its cold!. Remember to bring a paper towel something to wipe off your stomach because they don't always give you a towel!. Good luck! It doesn't hurt, but its uncomfortable feeling like having to go to the bathroom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the tech is doing a trans-abdominal (through the stomach wall) US, then all you have to do is lower your pants to your hip/pubic area!. Be SURE you have a full bladder!. If they're doing a trans-vaginal US then you'll need to be undressed from the waist down and they'll use a wand inserted into your vagina!. At least with the TVUS you have an empty bladder! it can be a little uncomfortable but neither is horrible!.
