Did I have a heat stroke?!

Question: Did I have a heat stroke!?
Okay, so my dad owns a heating and air business!. Of course he is super busy during the summer and my car's engine just blew up so I had to quit my job with no way to get the (my job was an hour away), So in order to pay my bills, my dad wanted me to work with him!. So today, I was outside and it was extremely hot!. I think it was the hottest day of the year, with a heat index of 106!. I live in south Georgia, by the way!. Anyway, I was on my hands and knees cutting some insulation for him and I started to feel really bad after about an hour!. My ears were ringing really loud and I felt really dizzy and lightheaded!. So I stood up, thinking I just need to get in the shade!. I was just standing there looking around and my dad asked me what was wrong and I kept saying, "I don't feel good" but he could not understand me because I was slurring my words!. (To me, it sounded normal but him and the other guy couldn't understand me)!. Anyway so my dad told me to go sit in the shade but I couldn't walk without feeling like I was spinning around and then I just started throwing up!. My dad walked me to the porch and got me some water and after that, I felt fine again!. So I got back up after a few minutes and started cutting the insulation again and I wanted to go until I was done!. So when I finished I was breathing really hard and my heart was beating fast and I sat back down to rest!. After I sat down I started feeling bad again and I was really nauseus and then I threw up again!. Once again I felt better after that but I didn't do much else!. I am at home now but my stomach still hurts a little, I am really tired and I have a small headache!. Do you think this is just heat exhaustion or what!? Thanks for your answers!. Sorry it's so long!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It sounds like you may just be dehydrated or have a bit of heat exhaustion!. Heat stroke is much more serious, you probably wouldn't be conscious enough to type that message!.

If you are working in the heat, you need to drink a lot of water every day!. that means even on days when you are not working!. Some gatordae wouldn't be a bad idea, either, but avoid soda and drinks with caffeine!. These will dehydrate you further!. If you've never worked out in the heat, it may take some time for you to acclimate to the heat, but it will get better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like heat stroke to me!. Be careful, it can be deadly in extreme cases!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You had the precursor to heat stroke (or hyperthermia), called heat prostration!. It's good that you hydrated and cooled down when you did, because full hyperthermia can be very dangerous and can kill!.

It would be best if you try to stay better hydrated when working in the heat!. Be sure to drink LOTS of water, wear light-colored clothing, keep your head covered (with a hat) and rest often!. Try to avoid working in the direct sun or at the heat of the day (11-2)!.

If symptoms persist, see your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
