Question: Is it okay to take medication for a yeast infection while still on these other medicatons!?
I had to get a minor surgery done earlier this week!. The doctor prescribed me vicodin, and amoxicillin!. Well of course the darn antibiotics gave me a yeast infection!. Is it okay for me to take the medicine (vaginally) to get rid of the yeast infection even though I am still taking my other perscriptions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It should be just fine!.

But just be prepared for a recurrence of the infection if you're not finished using the antibiotics!.

You may also want to contact your doctor and ask for a prescription of Diflucan!.!.!.WAY better than vaginal suppositories; one pill and you're done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It should be--what I'd do is call your doctor's (primary care or gyno) and ask to speak to the triage nurse!. They can answer your question more thoroughly (and talk to the doctor) without you having to make an appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it would be fine, especially seeing as taking the medicine vaginally it will just be absorbed there, it wont go into your blood stream!. Perhaps ask your pharmacist/chemist when you go to buy them if its ok!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
