The same thing happened to me quite a lot when I was about thirteen!.!.!.
My friends all wanted me to swim, but I kept on giving excuses to not take a dip in the pool!. If you're honestly just too afraid to use a tampon, then you might consider just telling your friends!. If they're really your friends they'd understand, and maybe even skip swimming to do something else!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

calm down its okay!
dont cry!
i dont use tampons and im 14,
just say that you dont really feel that well!.
if your mom asks what u feel like you can just whisper in her ear the real issue, your period,
or if u dont feel comfortable telling her about your period just simply tell her you dont feel great and everyonen will understand!.
i hope i helped!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you able to talk to your Mum sweetie!?!?!? You are only 13, so wouldn't it be OK if your Mum said you weren't allowed in the pool because you had a cold or something!?!?!? That way you can say!.!.!."yeah I'd love too but Mum won't let me"!.!.!.I have three teenage daughters and have been the "fall guy" for them lots of times when they don't want to do stuff like this!.!.!.try it, I'm sure she will help you!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok!.!.!.you are fine!.

1) Tampons are no problem, seriously!.

2) Water stops the "flow"!. :) You are perfectly safe if you want to go without, but you have to stay in the water!.

3) If you really don't want to, don't swim! Just say no!. They have no right to be upset!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually tampons arent that scary, try it!. Ul get used it it in a while!. Just take it slow and relax!. Sometimes the directions can be kind of straightforward, so just do what feels comforatable!. and eas it!. :D or just tell them you dont feel like swimming today!. :D hope i helped!. good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey! Don't stress yourself out!!! First of all I definitely recommend tampons- if you are afraid at first I would suggest getting "slim fits" or a very small tampon that you can change frequently!. That will help you build up to a regular sized one that you can leave in for longer!. I completely understand being scared or nervous about using them, but I promise once you try it, you wont ever rely on a yucky pad again!

If for some reason you decide that it's too uncomfortable or something you aren't ready to try- you should wear a light pad that you can change often and try to minimize going in the water!. Technically your period "stops" in the water, but I've never experienced it first hand so I can't make any promises!.

I really do urge you to try the tampons though- you can do it!! Good luck with your final decision xoxWww@Answer-Health@Com
