Answers:
I get this sort of thing a lot because all my joints move beyond the usuall range of movements(hypermobile joint syndrome)!.

It sounds to me like you probably pulled or pushed it too far, or you have been doing some repetitive movement that has put inapropriate pessure on it (the joint)!. You might not have even particularly noticed it happening!.

The cartalidge in your joints are thicker in the middle and thinner on the outsides!. so if your joints move againtst the thinner bits, they wear quicker and quickly become inflamed!. Feel like arthritis but is not(incedently there are many types of arthritis, and though rare some children and teenagers do get it) Resting the joint and avoiding doing what ever set it off in the first place will help the inflamation to subside!.

For example, I get a very sore thumb joint!. It was hurtin me to pick things up and even turn book pages somedays! When it first started happening, after some time I identified the problem and realised that the position of my bike handle bars meant that I was putting bodywieght onto my thumb joint!. I got new handle bars and eventually it stopped hurting!. It is now a weak point and I have to rest it sometimes!.

I supose that is what repetitive strain injury is like too!.

You just need to identify if there is anything you are doing that is excaserbating(can't spell that word!) the problem so it can recover!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not carpal tunnel, but a definate strain on your finger joint, as you say !.!.!.give it a rest for a few days to completely recover, add ice packs to the joint every half hour for 10 mins for a few hours to reduce blood flow to the area, it will reduce inflammation!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
