Question: Questions about Yaz birth control!?
My dermatologist told me about Yaz and thinks it would help me!. Nothing else is wrong so this is a last chace thing!. He said I would be using it for acne not birth control!. Do I need a pelvic exam!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to have a pelvic exam done in order to be prescribed Yaz!. Don't let her fool you though!. Yaz isn't an acne treatment!. I used it in early 2007 and for those 3 months, I wanted to crawl in a hole and die!. It gave me HORRIBLE acne (didn't help), made me have "breakthrough bleeding" for 3 months straight (not shorter, lighter periods like the commercials say), I had the most terrible migraines!. And my husband thought I was becoming bi-polar or something b/c one minute I'd be fine and then for no reason, I'd start crying or screaming at him!. It was HORRIBLE!!!! But my *male* gynecologist who couldn't have possibly understood my pain kept telling me to just wait it out for 3 months to see if my body would adjust-- it didn't!. I quit using it!. And on top of everything else, it was around $50/month! I have amazing insurance, but most health ins providers will not cover much if any of the cost of birth control!.
All you can do is try it and see how it works for you personally!. Yaz has a different (synthetic) hormone that no other pill has and it's one that the human body doesn't produce naturally!. I've known several people who've used it and had the same symptoms I had!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Doctors are usually hesitant to put a woman on birth control without doing an exam first!. I was put on birth control to help with my period rather than preventing pregnancy and I had to have one!. It is needed but not that bad!. It's over in about 5 minutes (no exaggeration either!)!. It's important for the doctor to see how things are before the medication in case of side effects, reactions, etc!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I would think not, but depending on your age you may want to get one anyway!. Just a little bit of advice though, I was on Yaz!. They tell you it will help with all these things, when in reality it made everything for me twenty-times worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
