I have personal experience with these!. I am so sorry you get them too!.

Here are a few things you can try!. It really depends on the individual as to which one is best for you, so try a few different things and see what works best!.

1!. Use cooling packs or heating pads around your head or neck and wrists!. (Cool on wrists/forehead, heat on neck is best!.) This can help draw the blood that is causing your migraines away from your constricted blood vessels and help you feel better!.

2!. A dear old teacher of mine recommended filling a basin with scalding water (as hot as you can possibly tolerate) and soaking your forearms in the water!. Submerge your arms all the way up to your elbows and leave them their until it is too painful!. This will work in the same way and draw the blood away from constricted blood vessels!. I haven't tried this yet myself, but it sounds like it could work!.

3!. Stay in a quiet, dark room if possible!. Light and sound can make the migraines worse!.

4!. Try staying very still, moving gently, lying or sitting in different positions, rearranging pillows, etc!. Moving will help get your blood moving again (people feel pain when the blood doesn't leave an area [very simplified explanation], which is why, for example, you would compress a sprained muscle), and different positions can open blood vessels an help soothe your headache!.

5!. Drink water, but not too much!. Staying hydrated is important, but if you drink more than a litre in three hours, it could increase your nausea!.

6!. Medication can always help, but acetaminophen isn't the best or only choice!. Try ibuprofen, naproxen sodium, Excedrin, or a prescription from your doctor!. Try different things and see what helps you the most!. I find naproxen sodium is great, especially if you need to stop the pain to sleep!.

There are plenty of other things to try!. Just be open to suggestions! I hope this helps, and I hope you feel better!

EDIT: My brother also gets chronic migraines, and he found that certain foods triggered his migraines!. He cut those foods and hasn't had migraines in ages!. His triggers were onions (he grew out of that one), anything caffeinated (including chocolate and teas), and a few other things!. When he stopped eating these foods, his migraines stopped!. Do some research and try to determine which foods or activities can be triggers for you!. Experiment a bit!. Keeping a log of what you've done and what you've eaten and when you've gotten migraines can help you determine if certain things can cause your migraines!.

I hope this will help you!. I know this can be miserable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
