Hi, Angelina!.

The most likely cause is some sort of hormone issue!. As many other answers to your question note, pregnancy could cause such a hormone imbalance, but there are lots of other things that could do it as well!. Our bodies, whether male or female, are constantly producing some level of both estrogen and testosterone, as well as many other hormones, and unusual levels or combinations of any of them can cause nipple pain!.

There are other possibilities as well!. You could have a yeast infection in your nipple, known as "thrush," that would cause these symptoms!. This is usually associated with lactation, but if nipple play features in your lovemaking with your husband, yeast could also be introduced to your mammary ducts!. Even wearing tight clothes when you are hot and sweaty could be a culprit!.

There is also a very unique circulatory problem known as Reynaud's Phenomenon which can cause nipple pain!.

Whatever the underlying issue is, it is bound to be worse when your tissue is erect, because there is less room for everything else in there, including whatever is causing the irritation!.

If pregnancy is eliminated as a cause, you should see a doctor, who at least can eliminate infection as a cause, or prescribe treatment if it is!.

If the problem is hormonal, that too can be addressed pharmaceutically!.

If pregnancy is the cause, congratulations!Www@Answer-Health@Com
