okay i am 19 and i have very irregular periods, i was on yaz for 3 years and my periods where normal and i would get them everytime i was supposed to (each month), but i stopped taking yaz on june and i haven't gotten a period since and we are already august!!!.!.so i went to the doc and she told me to start a new pack of yaz whenever i wanted, since i dont have a period to guide myslef with!.!.!.so my question is!.!.!.if i start the new pack of yaz on whatever day (not on the 1st day of my period or the sunday after-because i have no period)!.!.will the pill still work!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, the pill will still work, but you should take seven days of active pills before you rely on it for contraception!. Yaz, like all combined hormonal contraceptives, is effective either immediately or after seven days, depending on when in your cycle you start taking it!. If you start taking the pill within the first five days of your cycle, you are protected IMMEDIATELY!. If you start at any other point in your cycle, you are protected after seven days of active pills!. According to Planned Parenthood:

"If you start the combination pill within five days after the start of your period, take the first active pill of the first pack!. You will not need to use a back up method of birth control!. You are protected against pregnancy immediately!.

If you start the combination pill at any other time during your menstrual cycle, take the first active pill of the first pack!. Use another method of birth control if you have vaginal intercourse during the first week of combination pill use
