Question: Why are women and girls so embarrassed by their period!?
i mean the only thing i find embarrassing is tellin ppl!. lik my mom and best riend!. but other ppl lik try to hide their tampons/pads wen they go to the bathroom!. wy do they do this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's just the way they are raised!. Most people are raised to be a bit embarrassed about anything that is personal and biological, especially anything that has implications for hygiene!.
However, there are plenty of women who aren't embarrassed by it at all!. And obviously there's nothing to really be embarrassed about!. But that's the way people in Western society (and most other societies) are raised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm not embarrassed of my period, but i do not run around flashing tampons everywhere, and letting everyone know i'm on the rag!.
i think just as i don't need everyone knowing when i go to pee or poop, i don't need everyone knowing when i have my period!.
PLUS it weirds some guys out and i'd rather not have to deal with their cries of "eww, gross!" and whatever else!. my period is my business and my problem and i try to keep it that way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, i understand hiding your tampon when you go into the bathroom!.!.!. i even do this, but i am not embarrassed about it, and i am only 15!.
I'm not embarrassed to tell people, but i dont wanna walk around holding a tampon and telling the world i have my period, because its not really something everyone wants to hear about!.!.!. but if people ask its not that big of a deal because all girls get it, and its natural!Www@Answer-Health@Com

In my opinion it is that we are taught from a young age that you dont talk about it!. That it is "the curse"!. In sex ed they break boys and girls up so that the boys dont have to hear about it!. It is a stigma that society has given us!. But eventually you will see that it isnt a big deal and noone really cares!.!.!. every girl has one!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

one time i told my bf to put my tampon in his pocket so i could change once we got to the movies cause i didnt have pockets and didnt bring my purse in!.
when we got next to the bathroom he pulled it out like nothing and i walked in with it in my hand!.

We girls, or at least me, don't care if other girls know!. They're having it to so why should I be embarrassed!?
But we hide our equipment from boys!. Boys are loud and obnoxious!. They also get embarrassed by it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
