Other than making sure their record is clean, I look for what I call the "3 Cs"!.
1!. Competent: they know what they are doing!.
2!. Caring: they care about me as a person and don't just look at me as another "problem" to treat!.
3!. Comfort: I must feel comfortable with them!.!.!.if I don't feel like I can tell them anything and everything, there is no way I will see them (unless it's an ER situation)!.
Another biggie for me that doesn't really fit in with my C's is the patient-practitioner style they practice!. I'm one of those patients that likes to know everything about what's going on with any illness, treatment option, etc!.!.!.and if it is at all possible, I like to have an active role in choosing my treatment option!. If a doctor isn't comfortable with that, he/she is not a good match for me!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

One of the most important things to me is can I get in fast if I am sick or there is an emergency!. I had what I thought was the best doctor around and was not feeling well!. I called to make an appointment and after telling them my symptoms, they gave me an appointment 2 weeks later!. Turns out I was pregnant and some thyroid meds I was on was making me sick!. I changed doctors right away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Personally I like to have a female doctor!. I wouldn't take my car to a mechanic who never owned one either!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
