What is a smear test!

Question: What is a smear test
please can someone tell me what a smear test isWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A pap smear!? This is when your gynocologist has you lay on the examination bed with your legs spread and on stirrups so he/she can check your vagina!. She/he will use a long q-tip type object and insert it into your vagina to get a swab and make sure you're not at risk for cervical cancer!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's simply where a swab is taken from your cervix to test for pre-cancerous/changes in cells!. Depending on where you live, this is usually carried out between the ages of 20-60, every 3 years, in the US it's done as soon as your 18 or when you become sexually active (which ever comes first) and they should adopt that here, I read recently in the Daily Mail (I know, I know an abhorrent newspaper) that three girls our age (under 25) are now dying from cervical cancer because they were not offered the smear test until too late!. A needless waste of life!. Considering the age of consent in the UK is 16, it's crazy to not offer the test till you are in your 20s!. Unfortunately, this is a problem that comes from politicians thinking they are more clever than Dr'sWww@Answer-Health@Com

A smear test is a test done to check that the cells of the cervix are healthy!.
It is carried out by your doctor or nurse and only takes about 5 Min's!. They will take a sample of the cells and send them away to a lab to be analysed!. It helps to prevent cervical cancer as an early detection of abnormal cells can be treated before it becomes any worse!. Hope this helps!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
