Question: What do they test for , when they give you a pap smear !?!?

first of all i have anxiety disorder!.!.!.
okay i have had 3 pap's and never had a abbnormal one!.!.
but every time i get one i freak out until i get the results!.!.!.
i have been in a manogmous relationship for 11 years , I dont know why , but im scared it's going to come back ab normal !.!.i was just wondering what do they really even test for !?!?!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

They are looking for any abnormal cells!. In short, they are looking for precancerous cells!. Even if they find abnormal cells, sometimes it's due to a yeast infection, which is easily remedied!. No need to freak out!. Good for you for taking care of yourself and having regular paps!. It's not my favorite thing, either, but taking care of you is priority #1!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Next time you go in for your gyno visit ask these questions, that is what the doctor is for and it will help put your mind at ease!.
