No birth control is 100% effective, even when taken properly!. That being said, don't panic, as the chances are very small (1 in 1000 over the course of a year)!. If you have been sexually active in the last month, take a home pregnancy test just to be sure, but skipping one period is not the end of the world!. Your hormones might just be funky this month!.
