Mirena coil question?!

Question: Mirena coil question!?
i am 47 years old and have had mirena coil in for five years!. Does it have to be replaced after five years at my age!? I found it really painful having it inserted and really dread going through all that again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am also 47 and have had my mirena coil replaced aftert 5 years!. This coil releases hormones into your body so your period is very light or disappears completely!. These hormones are no longer effective after the five years, and stop working, and unless you are going through the change your period will return!.

I had both my coils fitted under a general anathsetic which could be an option for you!.

Id check with your doctor i think it is five years though, but trust me its not all that painful the second time, i had the mirena and i too was dreading it but i didn't even feel a thing at all and its over in a matter of seconds, honestly dont worry about it and once its done its done for another 5 years Www@Answer-Health@Com

The Mirena coil can be left in for up to five years, irrespective of age!. The Mirena coil will not just switch off after 5 years, there is an extra safety margin in it!.!.!.but it will need to be changed or it will be ineffective!. I would recommend seeing your GP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't have to get it replaced but don't think that since you are 47 that you can't get pregnant!. Keep in mind that there are other things out there that can be used other than IUDs that might suit you better Www@Answer-Health@Com
