The first thing I would suggest is telling your mom!. It's something every woman goes through and millions of them go swimming during their periods, your mom's probably the best person to advise you on what your best method of dealing with Aunt Flow is, since she knows you better than any of us would!.

Secondly, although periods are normally irregular at first, a good idea if you're really worried about making marks on your underwear (though it happens to pretty much EVERYONE at some point), is to use a standard method of calculating your cycle: take note of the day you *started* your period (the first day of bleeding) and count forward 28 days!. The 28th day is the average starting day for a woman's period!. What I used to do is start wearing pantyliners (the thin ones) a couple days before then so that if I started earlier, I could just change over to a proper pad!.

Bear in mind that when a girl first gets her periods they're very often irregular and you probably won't have very strong symptoms so it's a matter of listening to your body and learning what signs it gives you!. And if you do mark your underwear!? Cold water and soap is a great method for cleaning them :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

okay listen tampons are not scary!. they come with directions he he; so just tell your mom, whats the worst she can do!.!.!.absolutely nothing!.!.!.you didn't do anything wrong but start your period and that happens to every girl!. So don't stress over nothing!. Record the day you got your period!.!.!.you get them monthly so you won't have to guess what day you get them it's just regular things that happens on the exact same days every month usually 5-7 days!. So tell your mom things will get alot easier from there!. She'll understand, I mean she had you tehhe!

goodluck!

I was scared the first time i used a tampon but if u tense up it hurts! stay calm and it just slides in lol
Tell your mum tho!. she will understand she has them too and was your age once!
Tampons are the only option if you want to go swimming, the only other option is to not go swimming but NEVER go swimming on your period without a tampon in!.!.!.its just gross!.
TELL YOUR MUM!! xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tampons aren't as scary as you think!. I've only recently started using them and get on ok with them!.
You really need to speak to your mum about starting your period!.
I'm sure your mums has them or has had them in the past!.
She must realise at your age you could be getting your period by now!.
Good luck xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Walk to the store!.
Buy some slender plastic applicator tampons!.
Walk home!.
Read the directions!.
And put in a fricken tampon, it's not scary, and it's really easy to insert!.
Sheesh!Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell your mom about it sweety - she can answer your questions and help you out

tampons aren't so scarey, you get SO used to it - that's the only way to go swimmin with your period - good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell your mum!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.and she'll advise you!. good luck! = ]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your only options are to not go swimming or to use a tampon!. And don't be scared to tell your mum, remember that she went through this too, just like all women!. It's not at all embarrassing and she will most likely be very proud that you are now technically a woman :) My mum was the first person I told!. Don't use a tampon if you're worried about it, I didn't try them until I'd had my period for three or four years!. However, I will reassure you that there really isn't anything to worry about and they're very easy to put in, especially if you use an applicator tampon!. Talk to your mum about the best thing to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
