Breast Lump in 17 year old girl?!
Question: Breast Lump in 17 year old girl!?
I was just talking to one of my closest friends and she informed me that while giving herself a self breast exam she found a lump!. She said it didn't feel like a normal lump so she told her family!. They took her to a doctor and the doctor said that since she's so young she can't have a mammogram but they're going to send her for an ultrasound in a couple weeks time!. She said the doctor wouldn't tell her anything that was going on other than the fact the lump wasn't what they expected it to be!. My friend told me the lump is small and rock hard!. She's only 17 as I stated in the question; is she too young to have breast cancer!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

She is very young to have breast cancer but yes, it is possible!. However, before you panic too much, think about the fact that she has obviously caught this lump very early!. If the doctor is sending her for further tests, maybe he doesn't know what it is either!.
Can I just say well done to her for being sensible enough to do a breast exam! She may be only young but as she has found out, you can still get lumps at a young age!.

While it is possible for a young girl to get breast cancer, most often it will turn out to be a cyst, so tell her not to worry needlessly!. If it is a tumor, she probably found it early enough to be successfully treated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
no need to worry first of all she is young and young people tend to heal faster than older people there are so many different treatments and techniques that can be done if biopsy is needed so she will probably be fineWww@Answer-Health@Com
