On birth control; really long period?!

Question: On birth control; really long period!?
I'm on Ortho TriCyclen (not Lo) and I've been on it for a little less than 4 months!. I missed the first day of the pack but I took it less than 12 hours later and it was my first time skipping a period (on purpose)!. Except my period decided to come a week later, while I'm still in the middle of my active pills!. I don't know what it is, if it's even a period, because it's been going on for almost 10 days now, and the blood is clumpy and runny and dark!. I kept taking the pills but I don't know what to do now since it's going on for so long!.
Should I stop and wait for this to stop before starting a fresh pack, or should I just keep taking my pills!? Or is something wrong that I should have looked in to!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Do not stop taking the pills first of all!. Only your doctor should tell you to stop taking the pill!. The reason your period is so long is because you screwed up your cycle by taking the pills in an abnormal way!. You should continue the pills and when your done with the pack you still may go into your normal period stage even though it may seem like it never stopped!. Don't worry, it will stop eventually and there is a chance that it can last for up to 30 days!. This I know from experience and from personal stories from friends!. If you are worried, you should go to your doctor and get advice from him, since he ultimately knows best!. But I wouldn't worry about it, but don't stop taking the pills!. I know its aggravating, but it happens!.!. it will be over when your body is ready for it to be over!.

Dark blood can be old blood that is still leaving your body, but it can also be a sign of a miscarriage, but only you know if that is possible!. If you think you may have gotten pregnant, then you should go to your doctor immediately, because if you've had an incomplete miscarriage, you can come down with a really bad and dangerous infection!. But again!.!.!. don't stop taking the pills, this can make things worse!.

Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
