I've never worn tampons before and I will be getting my period the day of a pool party!. It is 7 hours long and we will be going in and out of the pool the whole time!. How often do you think I should change my tampon!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I would change it twice throughout the pool party, it would be the safest!. Make shure you have a change for your tampon when you go to the washroom!. And you might think of using Playtex Sport, O!.B pro sport or Tampax Pearl there the best!. You can get free samples and the ob sample comes in a really cute case that is small and fits into any pocket in your purse! The case holds up to 4 slender tampons or 3 regular's!.

Take a BUNCH with you, "just in case!." Also, take a Plan B!. Plan B consists of underwear and pads, and something you can wear over them!. Some Tampons leak for some people, so for your first time you'll want to hit the restroom every so often to literally do a spot-check!.

The instructions have a maximum time the tampon can stay in to reduce the risk of toxic shock syndrome!. Off the top of my head I think it's 4 hours, but check your instructions!. Aside from that, the number of times you'll have to change it is dependent entirely on your flow and what absorbency you're using!. Low absorbencies are the safest, especially for juniors, but they mean you need to change the tampon more frequently!. Changing them too soon can be uncomfortable because it's a dry wad of cotton (ouch!) but shouldn't do any harm!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have never worn them before, at least try the brand you plan to use out to make sure it fits comfortably!. Some tampons are too "long" for some women and fit uncomfortably!. I use ob because they are shorter than most and easy to carry!. But you do have to practice opening, twisting and inserting them to be sure they work well!. It is important to give them a slight twist before use to be sure they open when the flow starts and don't leak!.
Have fun and maybe you will be lucky enough that your period holds off for a day! =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

It all depends on how heavy your period is and what size/absorbency tampon you use!. Never leave it in past 8 hrs!. I mean you should change it sooner but if you forget you will be ok up to 8 hrs if the flow isn't heavy!. You don't want to change it too often because if the tampon isn't saturated it will hurt when you try to remove it!.Have fun at the party!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends how heavy your flow is!.
Heavy Flow~ 2-4 hours
Medium Flow~ 4-6 hours
Light Flow~6-8 hours!.

You might not get your period on that day!.!.(unless you already have it) So check in the morning if you have any spoting or signs of blood!. I always get really bad cramps so make sure you take Midol, Advil, or Tylenol!. I reccomd for the pool party!.!.you should either use the Sports Tampon!.!.(by Playtex) or the Slim tampon!. GOOD LUCK! Hope I helped!.!.

Depending on your flow, you could leave it in the entire time!.If it's heavy you might want to change half way in!. If it's light, leaving it in the entire time won't hurt, just change it immediately after the party!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say at probably, every two to three hours!.
If you're worried, do it once an hour!.
Hope you have fun at your party!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
