At what age should I start getting mammograms?!
Question: At what age should I start getting mammograms!?
I just found out that my grandmother died of breast cancer when she was 40!. She had a double mastectomy!. When should i start getting tested for this!? I'm going to be 30 in a few months and am now getting paranoid!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, I hope that you're getting an annual checkup, which includes a clinical breast exam, right!? Keep doing that!.
And, reliably check your own breasts once a month, that's a great first line of defense!. A little "hint"!.!.!.!. if you're checking yourself dry (as in in not in the shower), put a bit of 100% cornstarch baby powder on your fingertips, you''ll be amazed at the increase in sensitivity!. Make sure it's 100% cornstarch!.
And on the mammogram!.!.!. check with your doctor!. But if you were coming into my office and practice, I'd probably do a "baseline" mammogram at about 35, which is normal practice!. After that, they/we usually start annual mammograms at 40!. For you, I might do your "next" one at maybe 37-38, and then do annuals at 40!.

definitely talk to your dr !. i got mine started at age 40 , but they do start younger if there is a family history !. remember , always check yourself monthly and also at the Dr's when you get your pap test done !. take care !. d!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Annual mammograms should begin at age 40 unless you are at a higher risk for getting breast cancer!. Which you may be, talk to your doctor and tell them about your family history and ask their advice on when to get your first mammogram!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Since breast cancer runs in the family, you should start getting them soon!. I know that it is a routine thing when you turn 40!.

Talk to your gyno!. My friends have started getting them around the age of 35 but one whose mom just went through breast cancer had her first one around 33!. Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
