Answers:
No, an IUD can be used in a women who has not given birth, although it can be a bit more difficult to place the IUD because the opening in the cervix of a woman who has not had a baby is a little smaller!. I have not had a baby, and my IUD placement was a bit more painful than I had anticipated!. Also, there is some evidence that women who have not had a baby may be more at risk for IUD expulsion (your body pushes the device out)!.

There are 2 types of IUDs!. I have the Paraguard, which has no hormones!. I was warned that this type of IUD could lead to more cramping and heavier periods, which turned out to be true!. There are IUDs that have hormones in them that can help you have shorter, lighter periods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The IUD has a small chance of making you unable to have children so they recommend that you have at least one child before using an IUD!. I have heard IUD's make cramps much worse!.!.!.!.not better! My sis had one and her body actually cramped it out!Www@Answer-Health@Com
