I'm not very old, but I do work as a nurse on a gynaecology ward, and the national average in this country for this happening is 52!. Although for some its earlier, some later!. You can also be "peri-menopausal" for about 5 years before Aunt Ruby makes her final visit!

I started menopause symptoms around 49 and had to eventually have a hysterectomy!. My sister differed completely and still continued menses up to 57!. It seems that we are all diverse and completely different!. I think sometimes stress can play a part in "that" time of life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
This dosent apply to me but thought i would give some input!.
My mother 48 has been going through metapause for some time now and her periods are getting further and further apart!.!.!.so we expect soon!. My aunts stopped in there late 40s early 50s!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I haven't experienced menopause yet ( Since I'm only thirteen ) !. The average age is 50 !. My aunt stopped when she was 39 ( But that's VERY early ) !. My mum is 48 and she is going through menopause currently !.Www@Answer-Health@Com
