Question: Why have I lost my Voice!? Was it the life support tubes!?
I'm 21, and on the 7th August I went to hospital with asthma (I was having an attack)!. I woke up on the 14th of August and had been in an induced coma!. I am having a lot of trouble talking since, my voice is croaky and its very very quiet, someone please help! How long until I will get it back!? Why is it gone!? Also, I used to only breathe through my mouth and since I have woken up, I only breathe through my nose!.!.!. I struggle to drink anything cold too, it feels like it's going to drown me!. Also, could it be oral thrush as I have been taking steroids for the lungs, anti biotics and also an asthma preventer!? I am finding it hard ti burp aswell, I used to be able to burp when ever I wanted and now I have to wait for it to come out by its self!. Thanks heapsWww@Answer-Health@Com

These would be good questions for your doctor!
It does sound like the soreness and that is from the tubes as I have had them before and I felt like I had strep throat for a few days!
It also sounds like your esophagus is a little inflamed with it hurting when you drink water!
You need to take it easy and not rush these things to come back! Your body was just through something tragic and needs to adjust!

Well considering the fact that you more then likely had a VERY large tube stuck down your throat for 7 days is a pretty good reason that your voice is gone!. Intubation tubes can irritate your airway and cause inflimation and pain!. I am sure the it will pass!. If in the nest few days you do not start seeing improvement i would contact a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
