Having a papsmear does not cause pain its just that they are uncomfortable!. and im being serious im not trying to sugar coat it for you!.
The best way to help ease this is to try to have a female doctor (if thats your preference) and then make sure during the actual procedure you keep your body relaxed as possible so they can get in and get out as quickly as possible!. (even if your not!.!.lol)
the whole procedure itself takes about 2 minutes or so, so dont worry it will be over before you know it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because i have had endometriosis which is a disorder of the ovary, i have probably had more pap smears at the age of 21 than an average woman has in a life time! They do not hurt!.!.!. can feel uncomfortable though, i think people confuse this with pain!. It is over within minutes!!

Mine always pinch a little bit!. It's not that bad though!. Whether or not they will hurt you depends on your anatomy!. And if it starts to hurt a lot, tell the doctor, because it shouldn't!.
Personally, I'm more comfortable with a woman doctor!. You may be as well!.
And everybody is scared their first time!. I was so nervous I was shaking!. My mother came in with me the first time and stood by my head!.

I'm a nurse and what these other women have told you is TRUE!!! :)
its uncomfortable and it pinches alittle just let your doctor know your nervous and she will talk you through it!. its over in about 1 minute honestly!. just try and relax and breath nice deep slow breaths

It's not the most comfortable thing in the world but it doesn't hurt!.

When i had my first pap, I was terrified, they don't technical hurt but you will feel discomfort!. My gyno talked to me to keep my mind off it!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Depends if ur a virgin or not but if your 21 or older and a virgin it might not hurt as bad as a younger teen thats not sexually activeWww@Answer-Health@Com
