Incorrect UTI test result?!

Question: Incorrect UTI test result!?
I took 2 days for Bactrim prescribed for 7 days, but doctor then switched me to Macrobid prescribed for 5 days due to getting a severe headache from the Bactrim!. I finished the Macrobid, felt fine the next day, however the day after that in the night time I started getting the symptoms of the UTI again!. Pinch of pain after finished urinating and there was also blood!. Then when not urinating had the burning sensation, definitely uncomfortable!. Called doctor next day, told me there wasn't any openings, so prescribed me Pyridium for the pain!. Saw the doctor two days later and coincidently my period came on that day too!.

So he checked my urine and he came back and told me I didn't have any infection, but then asked me if I had any white discharge because if I did it might be yeast infection!. Told him I didn't and told me to continue taking the Pyridium for 4 to 5 more days!.

I asked him then why did I have those symptoms of what a UTI would be!. He said after effects or something like that!. I am still doubtful!.

Why would my doctor tell me to continue taking Pyridium, isn't that only for pain relief of UTI!? I mean he did tell me I don't have the infection anymore!.

Thanks in advance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It is unlikely that the results from the UTI test were incorrect!. The blood in the urine is worrying, but could be residual problem from the UTI!. The Pyridium can address your residual symptoms from the UTI even without an active infection!.

The antibiotics you took only cleared up the actual infection, not the irritation that it caused your urinary tract!.

I would also drink a lot of cranberry juice, there have been a number of medical studies that point to the effectiveness of cranberry juice in the treatment and prevention of UTIs!. 100% juice is better, but Cranberry juice cocktail will work fine too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
