Birth control question...?!

Question: Birth control question!.!.!.!?
I have been on the depo shot for 2 months, but don't know if I like it!. I am 16 and some have told me that I need to be on it unless I am not going to be sexually active at all!. I don't know if I will be not having sex, so I think I need to be responsible and prepared!. What would you reccomend!? I am still hesitant about the pill because I am very forgetful and wouldnt want to forget to take it and end up prego!.
What would you recommend!? Any side effects or anything!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
First, your outlook on this subject is very mature and responsible! I was 18 when I started the depo shot!. (I'm 25) I didn't like it either!. It seriously messed up my period!

You have many options because birth control comes in many shape and colors!. ;)

I would suggest always using a condom!. It is will not only protect you from pregnancy, it will also protect you from STDs!. I am also forgetful, but I combine condoms and the pill!. I find condoms are very effective!.

You can also get a intrauterine device inserted by your gyno!.

My roommate found the birth control patch very effective!. She is very forgetful also!. But changing the patch once a week is much easier than taking a pill every day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm on the pill and i never had the issue of forgetting when to take it because i always take it at 9 each night!. It's become a routine, and i've been on it for 3 years now!. I've never been late with it or forgotten it!. I think the pill is best, it's effective and everything!. And for me, it hasn't had any side effects!. It depends on you though!. Some women might feel side effects while others don't!. I don't know anything about depo because i originally started taking the pill to regulate my period, and stuck on it for 3 years!. You should do whatever you feel comfortable with, and discuss your options with your doctor!. They should know what's best for you!.
Good luck!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It was my understanding from being on birth control for 10 years that Depo was really not used much anymore because of the side effects of weight gain and thinning bones!. Have you talked about other options with your doctor!? If you are responsible enough for sex, you really should step up to the plate and remember to take your pill!. Also, SINCE HE SHOULD ALWAYS WEAR A CONDOM WITH YOU, your chances of getting pregnant will be much lower!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used it from the time I was your age until I was 23 with no ill effects!. If your not having any adverse effects from it ,I dont think it will hurt you!.I would stay on it because it is good to be prepared for sex even if your not active!.But remember, you still need to use condoms because the depo does NOT protect against STD's!.A baby is for 18 yrs but herpes and AIDS is FOREVER!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey, im from Aust so i don't know if you have this over there, but anyway!.!.!. im on the 'Implanon'!. It's a little metal thingy insterted into your arm and it releases homones, just like the pill i guess!. It lasts for 3 years and you only have to have it put in there once, and never see the doctor again untill it's time to get it out!. It costs $30 and just the doctors app, so alot cheaper than the pill!. I love it coz i always forgot to take the pill!. It's 99% affective!. i love it! And no one can see you have it!. I LOVE it! Ask your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my sister was on the depo and had sever complications from it and I'm forgetful myself i recommend trying the patch which is a weekly sticker you chg or the new u-va ring birth control or an implantWww@Answer-Health@Com

GET OFF DEPO AND ON THE PILL! Depo is the WORST contraceptive out there and causes SEVERE long term side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
