Ladies, is it ok to do this?!

Question: Ladies, is it ok to do this!?
How safe is it to purposely miss your period be skipping the non active pills and starting a fresh pack!? I ask because I am getting married in 7 weeks and I worked out that I am supposed to have my period the week of my wedding and I don't want my period on my wedding night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Perfectly safe!. I've been doing it for three or four months in a row for the past 5 years or more - with my doctors approval too!.

It works best if you are on a monophasic pill where all the pills are the same dose!.

Basically, there is no medical reason to actually have a period at all when you are on hormonal birth control - it was part of the marketing when they first designed it - to make it mimic a natural cycle!. There's nothing natural about your cycle when you are on the pill!. It's completely artificial!. They've even brought out a new pill that means you don't have to have any periods at all - it's just a low dose pill, like all the others, same as Seasonale etc!.

There is no medical need for females to have a period every month!. To skip the non-active pills is not dangerous and will not hurt you!. Seasonal and other similar birth control pills have already caught onto this idea and these birth controls are not dangerous!.

Its perfectly ok but I wouldn't suggest you doing it more than 2 times in a row before talking to your doctor!.!.!. but skipping it the week of your wedding and honeymoon shouldn't be a problem at all! Congratulations and have lots and lots of fun! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Skipping it is fine, I have been using continious birth control, (12 weeks on the pill, one week off) for about 6 years now on doctor's orders!. Just make sure that your birth control pills are all the same, as in not three levels of hormones in one pack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's safe!.

I used to skip every other month when I was on the pill until December 2007 due to bad headaches!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
