What is happening to pharmacies? The total nanny state is with us.?!

Question: What is happening to pharmacies!? The total nanny state is with us!.!?
Asked for 100 75mg aspirin tablets in our main Boots branch!. Assistant asked if my doctor had advised me to take them!. I said no, but 2 of those were enough to take for a headache!. Was told I would have to buy the 300mg tablets, this means breaking one in half and probably losing the odd half!. They are not that easy to get out of the bubble and often break into fragments!.
Also bought soda bicarb, she looked miffed when I asked what I was permitted to use it for!.
The rationing of paracetamol too, you can buy 32 and that is enough to do damage, also there are 2 pharmacies near me , easy to buy 2 packets! They are mor expensive than buying 100 because of packaging costs!.
Hutber's Law -'progress equals deterioration'!.

Answers:
They are only looking out for your health!. You obviously don't have that bad a headache if 150mg of aspirin is enough to cure it most people need 600mg!. Paracetamol is only available in packs of 100 for dispensing purposes and have not been for sale for quite some time now only in 16's or 32's!. If you feel the need to make a point by buying them in more than one pharmacy then go for it!. They are not doing it to piss you off!. There are new guidelines coming out all the time and pharmacy have to comply!. Did you realise that people are sent round to make sure they are following these procedures so you should maybe think along the lines that they don't want to ration people more that they have to to remain in business!. No offence taken but it is mainly the government that make these regulations the pseudo ephedrine situation is the same in the UK!. The reason behind this is because drug addicts are using the pseudo ephedrine to make crystal meth I have been off work for 3 months and as far as I am aware you still can't get it over here there is even talk of it becoming a prescription only medication!. As for paracetamol pack sizes were cut down to try to stop overdose I know you can go round all different shops but someone that is going to do it will anyway!. Sorry to go on but I tried to email you to answer this!. There are also lots of people that do not know not to take 2 different medications containing paracetamol and would obliviously take more than recommended dose!. Paracetamo, is one of the safest drugs if used correctly but the most deadly if not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sainsbury's wouldn't let me buy a bag of peanuts at their petrol station as they said driving while eating peanuts can make you choke so they don't have them in petrol stations now!. Yet they sell peanut M and Ms!? I can't work it out!.

Still it's not just here as in the USA they can't even have codeine without prescription and many people in the USA have to go to Canada to get meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is absolutly ridiculous,my son who is in his 30s nearly got banned from our local tescos when they wouldnt ley him buy 2 packets of paracetamol and a packet of ibuphrofen for his migraine,if youwanted tokill yourself you would just have to go round a couple of times more and goto a diffrent till each timeWww@Answer-Health@Com

In the US they went crazy over Sudafed (pseudo-ephedrine)!.
You have to sign things ever time you buy it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do agree!. I buy over the counter sleeping medication and I take a quarter or half a tablet about twice a week!. A packet lasts me about 3 months but when I go to get more I get the third degree from the assistant!. The joke is that I could be going from pharmacy to pharmacy buying up this stuff and nobody would know!. They don't take your name and address!. So if I'm buying one packet only why don't they just hand it over and cut the inquisition!. I'm an adult and the product was recommended by my doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
