Birth control all sucks for me, any hormones I hate, they give me headaches, make me biitchy and lower my sex drive very significantly!. The only good thing I can say about them is that I have not gotten pregnant and I have not gained any weight, but everyone is different and some people will experience all the side effects, some will have none, and some will have a few, so the only way to know how it will affect YOU is to try it, good luck:)Www@Answer-Health@Com
My story, in brief: I'm 43, had been on Ortho-Novum 1/35 for about 25 years, decided to stop taking it for a couple reasons -- I figured, at my age, "it was just time"; also, my partner's had a vasectomy, so birth control wasn't really an issue!. After stopping, my periods got reeeeeally really heavy (like they were in my teens), so last month, after about a year of no BC, I asked my Dr!. for something to lighten the periods!. She prescribed Loestrin 24Fe!. I had no spotting during the first pack of pills, but I'm now on Day 11 of my period and it's not showing any signs of slowing down!. In fact, three days ago, I had excessive bleeding that the nurse said "qualifies as hemorrhaging" -- I went to see the Dr!., she did an endometrial biopsy, and told me to take 3 pills daily for 3 days to raise my estrogen levels and stop the bleeding!. Hasn't worked!.
Did some research online and found that many, many women have bad side effects from Loestrin -- heavy periods lasting weeks or months, anxiety, rapid heart rates, etc!. (all of which I have right now) -- so I'm stopping it today and will ask the Dr!. tomorrow to prescribe something else!.
