my doctor gave me a pessary its a tablet which i stuck up my vagina using an aplicator!.

For canesten to be the most effective you should put it in before you go to sleep so that it works during the night!. Of course it softens and disintegrates so for the following day or so you will have a chalky discharge so wear panty liners and don't have sex until all the "chalkiness" stops but after that it should be fine!.
