Why is my period like this?!

Question: Why is my period like this!?
I'm 15 years old and I have had my period since the 6th grade and I have never had a regular period!. I skips maybe 3 to 4 months at a time!. I used to be athletic and exercised everyday but now I am less athletic and I heard that makes your period irregular!. Is there something wrong I should be informed about!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, it is important to see a doctor for any health problems!.

A lot of girls have irregular periods, they can be due to many things like:

* Stress

* New cycle , that is the irregularity experienced by some young girls at the onset of the periods!. Their cycle can be irregular for months or years whilst it is establishing itself!.

* Dietary problems , eg anorexia, bulimia or simply poor diet

* Too much exercise

* Drugs - prescription and recreational

* Break in routine

* Thoughts and emotions

* Sexual activity - especially when it is a new occurrence

* Anxiety about pregnancy

* Illness or physiological imbalance eg thyroid conditions

It could be one of these or it could be a more serious matter!.

Sometimes young girls have difficult period from first menstruation up to fully developed regular menstrual cycles!. It will take some time to fully develop your mature regular menstrual cycle!. Please be also informed that in general menstrual cycles are very sensitive to stress, emotional situations, infections, medication, etc!.
Just be patient!. Usually by 18-20 year the menstrual cycle will be fully development, your hormones will develop your own (personal) cycle and your menstrual cycle will be regular!.

Well mine was like that and it turned out that i have someting wrong with my thyroid!. Being athletic makes your periods irregular, so now you are older and less athletic, they will be more normal!. Also, when you are young, your period can skip for about 4 months at a time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
