Question: What the hell, female circumcision!?
Can someone who is knowledgeable explain to me what female circumcision is exactly!? I never knew it could be done, I never even knew it existed!. Sites would help a lot too!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Many people get female circumcision confused with the other, more drastic forms of female genital mutilation!. Female circumcision is just one type!. It is the removal of the clitoral hood (the female equivalent of the male foreskin) and is analogous to male circumcision!.
Female circumcision (as defined above) is done by a doctor a lot of the time (46% of the time in Egypt, for example, where almost all females are circumcised) and is done for the same reasons as male circumcision - they say it's cleaner, healthier, lowers the risk of certain infections, etc!. The woman can still have sex, can still enjoy sex, and many say they are very glad it was done to them, can't imagine be uncircumcised, and willingly hand off their own baby girls to have it done shortly after birth!. After all, the baby won't remember it and they'll be healthier because of it, right!?
The other, more drastic types of female genital mutilation are less common, but they are the ones that everyone hears about on the news - where the clitoris, clitoral hood and the labia are removed and sometimes the vagina is sewn almost completely shut!.

As far as I know the clitoris is removed, and then there is no enjoyment in sexual feeling, the aboriginals perform this operation on all their young girls before puberty!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately in some parts of the world it is quite common!. It can also happen in western countries such as the UK and the USA because immigrants bring it to their new homes not understand it isn't tolerated!.
Basically the clitoris is cut off, and the 'lips' are cut of as well and are sewn together leaving only a small hole for urine and menstrual blood to pass through!. This is usually done on young women, it is thought to remove any sexual desire the woman will ever have and stop her from becoming adulterous when she marries!. It is considered a vital thing for a woman's reputation in some countries!.
Basically it is a horrific tradition used to control women!. If a woman refuses to have it done she is regarded as a prostitute and unpure causing immense disgrace on the family!.
