Question: Do I need to make my first appointment at an OBGYN since I had sex!?
I had sex for the first time yesterday and I've heard you need to make an appointment at the obgyn when you become sexually active!. I really don't want to unless I have any symptoms or concerns about a disease or infection or something!. I'm only a teen, and I don't really want to start going to the OBGYN!. So is it absolutely needed!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There's no law that say you have to go to the gyno!. when yo become sexually active, but it is definitely recommended!. If you're sexually active, you should get regular checkups at LEAST once a year to check for infections and such!. Don't be afraid!. If you're old enough for sexual intercourse, you're old enough to go to the gyno!. and get a check up!. It might be scary at first, but it's necessary to be healthy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think that if you are old enough to make the decision to have sex, you should be old enough to take responsibility of your health!. It is embarrassing at first to see a GYN, but it is for your best interest to start!. Dr's are used to doing exams and they understand that your first time will be awkward!.!.!. like my dr!. told me!.!.!. " I have seen so many, it's like looking down a throat!."
