I know exactly what this is categorically!
It is indeed, as you thought, down to the fact you havent taken a break in a while!.
It is perfectly fine to skip breaks for 3 months tops, however, after skipping 3 breaks, you should allow your body a break!. This is because the lining of the womb needs to shed, and if it is not allowed to, it will start doing this during a time you are not on a break - this usually starts more like spotting, and can carry on as just light to heavy spotting for some time!. I've had this before where it has lasted for months and months because i've missed so many breaks!.
It's also a good idea to have a break after 3 months of skipping breaks because if the endometrium (womb lining) cannot shed, it increases the chance of getting cancer there!.

I have the same sort of discharge when I haven't taken a break from the pill for a while, so it may just be this!.If you are worried go down to your local sexual health clinic and ask for them to test you for STIs just in case, or bacterial infections which are not necessarily sexually transmitted!. definitely get another test if you are not sure, but you know the drill, as with all pills there is the chance of clotting and spotting blah blah blah!. the pill fools your body into thinking it is pregnant, this may be the dried blood, also you may be pregnant for real!. check with your doctor or give your body a break!.

Hon, since you are on the pill it would be wise to get this checked out with your gynecologist!. Though you may not have an infection, it is still possible that you are having what's called breakthrough bleeding between periods!. Only your doctor can evaluate and diagnose this!. well!.!. My friend found out she was pregnant when she had just a little bit of a period,she was really light, just like uve explained ther!.!. I'd take a pregnancy test if i was you, just to make sure!
