How long do you leave a tampon in for.?!

Question: How long do you leave a tampon in for!.!?
should you leave a tampon in for!? Like 4 hours, or 6 hours or longer!.!.

I've had my period for a number of years, I just recently switched from pads to tampons and I want to know how often i should change it at school!. The flow is medium to heavy and I use light tampons cause they are the only ones that fit!. If that means anything!.

Answers:
Try leaving it in for about 4 hours and wear a panty liner in case you get a leak!. After 4 hours if the tampon is full it will be easy to remove as it will be slippery!. If it isnt slippery when you tug at the string after 4 hours you can leave it for another hour or two!. 8 hours is what they say is the max time to leave a tampon in place!. I have used tampons for 30 years and always use them at night (longer than 8 hrs)!. I know this will alarm some girls!. I have never had any issues with TSS!.
You may find that a light tampon isnt big enough to last 4 hours which is when you can try the next size up!. Even the super plus size of tampons are still quite small (small as your thumb) and alot smaller than a girls vag!. Its all about technique and knowing how to insert them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when using tampons during your periods make sure you change them at least every 4 to 8 hours to help prevent a rare, but potentially fatal disease called toxic shock syndrome or TSS!. Always use the lowest absorbency tampon necessary for the amount of menstrual flow you are experiencing on each day of your period!. Using super absorbency tampons on the lightest day of your period potentially puts you at risk for toxic shock syndrome!. Those most at risk for TSS include women under thirty, particularly teenage girls!.
